Non-Lethal Capability Live Demonstration held in Russia, Sergiev Posad, on 23 June 2011, at the Russian Scientific Research Institute of Applied Chemistry shooting range / testing ground, in the framework of the 8th Workshop of the NATO Defence Against Terrorism Non-Lethal Capabilities (DAT 11) Working Group.
The demonstration featured about 20 different Non-Lethal Capabilities including hand aerosol grenades, hand irritant grenades, hand thermobaric grenades, 40-mm multifunctional smoke rounds, 40-mm rounds with acoustic flash-bang grenades, smoke containers for vehicles and finally, the multifunctional, barrel-less, non-lethal pistol ‘’OSA’’.
It is expected that the OSA will be on display at the 2011 North American Technology Demonstration (www.2011natd.ca)
The Scientific Research Institute of Applied Chemistry (www.niiph.com) is head enterprise of ‘’Pyrotechnic materials’’ holding company, developer and manufacturer military pyrotechnic systems, law-enforcement means and civil products. The basic directions of activity are: wide product range for protecting armored techniques, aviation and marine objects, small-size fire shots for grenade cup discharge, container (cassette)-type means, military illuminating and signal means, antiterrorist means, non lethal action to protect people and various object and pyro-automatic means and pyro-ignition devices.
