The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) will help Kyrgyzstan in spotting the masterminds of recent riots in the south of the republic, says the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. He was speaking during a news conference in Moscow on Wednesday. He said that the CSTO would also provide material and technical assistance for the Kyrgyz law enforcement agencies, as well as it would offer assistance in the field of information to prevent ethnic strife from flaring up in Kyrgyzstan.
We hope that these moves will prove effective, and will in the future abide by the CSTO organizational documents, Lavrov added.

The Collective Security Treaty Organizations is teaming up with the International Migration Organization and the Red Cross for sending more aid to southern Kyrgyzstan and the refugees who crossed from this area into Uzbekistan. It also pledges further assistance to the armed services of Kyrgyzstan.
CSTO head Nikolai Bordiuzha discussed these and other matters with the Kyrgyz national security supremo Alik Orozov and Interior Minister Ruslan Kazakbayev at a meeting with them in Moscow on Wednesday. They also looked into ways to defuse the situation after seven days of clashes between members of the ethnic Kyrgyz and the ethnic Uzbek communities in southern Kyrgyzstan. All three agreed that the rioting was the result of deliberate incitement.
